Children of Philip Whincop 1880 & Gertrude Stuart

1. Philip Stuart Whincop, 1905, married Mabel Lancaster Grimsby Sep 1928 . No children? Philip S Whincop died, aged 34, Grimsby Mar 1939: actually on 31/1/1939 in the Corporation Hospital, Grimsby, probate of £317, address then 32 Sherburn St Cleethorpes - Howard Ancestry family tree . Mabel Whincop, 85, died Grimsby Jan 1986

2. George Frederick Whincop, born 16/10/1906, married Gertrude H Chapman Grimsby Mar 1938 . They likely had David 1939 and Carolyn 1944, both in Basford. George Frederic Whincop, 87, died Whitby Sep 1994 . Gertrude Hewson Whincop, 83, died Whitby 1997

They were known as Eric and Babs!!! (Just noticed Eric is last bit of Frederic, Ha!).
Never met them but had correspondence with Babs, her daughter Carolyn disappeared out of her life at some point (I'm not sure when) never to be heard from again!! I wrote to her son David on his mother's death but never had a reply.
I made contact with them 'later in life' when they moved to Whitby from Nottingham - Tony.

3. Phyllis Gertrude Whincop, 1910, died, aged 19, Grimsby Sep 1928

4. Gerald G Whincop, Mar 1918, likely married Jean M Milligan Chatham Jun 1946 .They likely had Michelle E Dartford Sep 1959. Have rechecked, and there des not seem more than the one birth reg. to them 1945-1976. He must die >2005 . Maybe his middle initial stands for Glenn?- indeed it does. He is cited in the London Gazette, Gerald Glen Whincop, being commissioned as a Flying Officer for 4 years from 13/6/1959 in the Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve : after this he is promoted to Pilot Officer in 1961 and, after several extensions- 1963, 1971, 1973. relinquishes his commission on 20/6/1977. His airforce number was 2605413.

There was another brother known as  Glenn - older than A L. He apparently was a pilot in the war, he had nothing to do with my aunt for about 40 years despite living in Grimsby (she in Grimsby and Cleethorpes), he certainly had two daughters who both still live in Grimsby area. He eventually moved up to The Lake District I think - Tony .

5. Amy Lois Whincop, 1920, married Victor J Turney Grimsby Dec 1944 ; she seemingly had no children.. Her husband likely died, aged 34, Liverpool N Dec 1948. She- already separated from her husband?? - then married John Walter Lowe Grimsby Dec 1948 - FMP .

He was in the FleetAir arm in the war where he met Tony's father, Thomas Rice Hill, who obviously introduced him to his
younger sister
Amy & John W Lowe travelled to Buenos Aires in 1948, having lived at 16 Rickmanswortg Rd Northwood, he a ranch manager. Then
in 1951, 1952 & 1954 she fravelled to Cameroon, twice alone and in 1952 with him. Her last addresses were Hencare Rd Grimsby,
Old farm Lamberhurst Kent and 10 Welholme Rd Grimsby resp. In 1952 record stated he was a planter. He kept asking her to
forward money out - to Colombia? - as there were good investment opportunities. But around 1960-70 she suddenly heard her
divorce had been finalised in Colombia!! . He was awarded the MBE about 1970, for services to agriculture
John Walter Lowe, born 22/8/1921, died Luton Jun 2006 . She died 2008-2012
Tony had power of attorney in her later life- she was known as Mickey . Amy never spoke of her first husband
